Lead by the desideration to activate the public dialogue on the issues in the field of motor insurance and road safety in Bulgaria, PR agency Expert Business Group and Insurance.bg (www.insurance.bg) are organizing a motor insurance conference on 10th of November under the motto
“Personating Liability Makes it Viable”,
dedicated to the motor insurance issues in Bulgaria.
The forum will be held on November 10th, 2009 from 9 am in Sheraton hotel (Royal 1 hall) in Sofia. Coorganizer is the National Bureau of Bulgarian Motor Insurers (NBBMI).
Representatives of the Financial Supervision Commission, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, representatives and experts from all insurance companies, operating on the market, are invited to participate in the forum. Representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers, the National Bureau of Bulgarian Motor Insurers, the Guarantee Fund, claim settlement companies, consumer organizations will also take part.
Bulgarian and foreign speakers will competently address the issues of the motor insurance in Bulgaria, the MTPL coverage and penetration, the damage compensations adequacy and their in-time payment, the bonus-malus scheme and creation of national system of traffic accidents and traffic perpetrators registration, ways and means to improve the safety culture on the road, etc.
We fully realize that these issues, facing the authorities and the society, have to be discussed in expert environment, in order to find the ways and means to tackle them. Activation of the public debate on the topic, which the conference will contribute to, may only be of help.
We expect that the participating institutions, structures and all interested parties will voice their expert assessment of the situation and the issues in this field, as well as the necessary changes – legislative and administrative – for accomplishing higher rates of MTPL coverage and penetration and for the payment of adequate and without delay compensation. Guest speakers from the Czech Republic, Sweden and Romania will share their expertise and the good practices of the respective countries.
Last but not least, it is of public interest to achieve fair pricing of the compulsory MTPL policy, which could happen only after introducing a common for all insurers informational system, containing data for the road behavior of the drivers. This will also promote the responsible driving and the cessation from “war on the roads”.
